3. Chandler Jones won’t get double-digit sacks

The Cardinals coaching staff should be concerned about their pass rush. Jones got to the quarterback 19.5 times a season ago. Expecting him to carry that much of the load moving forward is a poor gamble for the franchise.

That’s why this prediction calls for Jones’ production to be cut in half. That doesn’t mean he won’t still be an elite edge rusher. It just means that opposing offensive coordinators are going to base their entire blocking scheme around keeping Jones away from the quarterback.

In short, opponents are going to challenge the other guys in Arizona’s front seven to beat them. Zach Allen will need to show major improvement from his rookie season at defensive end. There’s also hope that Simmons can aid the pass rush from wherever he lines up.

Add it all up and it’s easy to envision a frustrating season for Jones. He’s going to get double and triple teamed too often to be as productive as he was a season ago. The Cardinals will need to wait until next offseason to get him the help he needs.
