Away: Minnesota Vikings

As good as the Vikings look a a playoff contender, the Bears were able to take care of things against Minnesota last year with a sweep of the season series. Putting the Vikings away again, especially on the road, would go a long way toward keeping the Bears atop the North and in control of their own playoff destiny.

This year, the Bears’ pass-catchers should have an easier time moving the chains against the Vikings who have lost Mackensie Alexander, Xavier Rhodes, and Trae Waynes in the secondary. The team also let Everson Griffin and Linval Joseph walk.

The Vikes have a strong coaching staff, which means younger players will undoubtedly fill much of the void, but the variables in play along with the learning curve involved could give players like Allen Robinson a bit more breathing room with which to make plays.

The Vikings have more to prove at this point than the Bears given the question marks they face at significant points on the roster. If the Bears can continue their recent run of success against Minnesota, they could be set up well within the conference.
