No. 4: Bob Knight

Love him, or hate him, Knight still had a ridiculous amount of success in an incredibly tough Big Ten conference, including some of the conference’s best years talent-wise. He’s also gone up against quite a few other coaches on this list.

Few coaches in the history of the game have been as intimidating and polarizing as Bobby Knight, but even fewer have been as successful as he. Dubbed “The General” Knight is one of the winningest head coaches in Division 1 history. In nearly three decades in Bloomington, Knight was the victor of 11 Big Ten championships, winning three national titles and advancing to the Final Four five separate times.

Knight was intense, to say the least. Even with the ugly ending to his time at Indiana, Knight’s spot on this list is undeniable. He even coached another one of the top three coaches on this list and still holds the title of being one of the few coaches in the modern era to guide a team through an entire season without a loss.

Whether you love him or hate him, Knight is one of the best college basketball coaches of all time.
