GREEN BAY PACKERS

We all know that the drama on Day 1 of the draft was all in thanks to the Packers, who stirred up the craziness by selecting Jordan Love with the 26th-overall pick (and traded up to do so). Love has the potential to be a starter someday, but the Packers being the ones to take him was perplexing.

Aaron Rodgers very well could still be playing by the end of Love’s rookie deal and then the Packers might be in a spot where they have to pay him big time money, not fully knowing if he’s the guy moving forward or not. It was a ballsy move by the Packers, but the rest of their draft was a little odd as well.

Not only did the Packers go with a quarterback in round one, but they failed to lock down one of the receivers in this stacked class. Their first three picks were spent on a backup quarterback, a reserve running back and a backup tight end.

It could be argued that two of Green Bay’s biggest needs in this draft were at corner and wide receiver and they failed to draft any players at either of those positions. They even drafted back to back to back offensive linemen in the sixth round. That’s right – three straight offensive linemen.

Love might go on to be one heck of a quarterback, but even if he does, who is he going to throw to in Green Bay? Not a good draft for the Pack.
