1. Home: San Francisco 49ers

The most meaningful game in the NFC during the 2019 regular season was played in New Orleans. The Saints played host to the San Francisco 49ers that day and the contest was an absolute thrill ride throughout.

The end result wasn’t good for the Saints, who saw the 49ers make a furious comeback down the stretch. George Kittle made the play of the game, stampeding down the sideline to set up the winning points for San Francisco.

The game proved to be the difference in the race for home-field advantage, with the 49ers winning the top seed on the strength of head-to-head victories over the Saints and Green Bay Packers. New Orleans was clearly the 49ers’ toughest challenger all season, but they never had a chance to test them in the playoffs.

The regular season rematch will again happen in New Orleans, which is a big deal for the Saints. The offseason moves that the Saints have made will bolster New Orleans’ chances of beating the 49ers, which could decide home-field again in 2020.

This game is, without a doubt, one of the biggest games in terms of postseason implications on the entire 2020 schedule. New Orleans simply has to find a way to come out on top if they want to maximize their odds of getting to the Super Bowl for the second time in the Drew Brees era.
