1. Josh Allen (Buffalo Bills)

2019 Stats: 58.8% completions, 3,089 yards, 20 touchdowns, 9 interceptions

The numbers are actually closer than you would think between Sam Darnold and Josh Allen, making it a tight race for the top of the AFC East’s quarterback power rankings. Allen’s team accomplishments are better than Darnold’s, however, making him the choice at the top of the list.

The Buffalo Bills have done a good job setting Allen up for success, surrounding him with weapons and building a strong offensive line to protect him. Allen’s mobility is also an important factor since he has the ability to take off and run when the play breaks down.

The departure of Tom Brady leaves the Bills as the favorites to win the AFC East, meaning Allen has a ton of pressure on him to take another leap forward for Buffalo. The addition of Stefon Diggs, a true No. 1 receiver and a viable deep threat, plays even further to Allen’s strengths as a big-play passer.

Allen does need to take a few steps forward in terms of his overall play, particularly boosting his completion percentage and accuracy. The buck stops with Allen in the AFC East in terms of quarterback play, and it will make the Bills the presumptive favorites to win the division for the first time since 1995.
