Cleveland Browns 2020 schedule release: Games, dates and times
Last season was a flop for the Cleveland Browns. This season, the team looks to rebound. Here is the 2020 schedule for the Browns.
In 2018, the Cleveland Browns showed promise. After Hue Jackson was let go during the season, Gregg Williams led the team to a 5-3 record as the interim head coach.
Baker Mayfield played well as a rookie and it appeared as though the team was ready to take the next step after a 7-8-1 final record.
Williams left town after Freddie Kitchens was brought in to be the head coach for the 2019 season. After an offseason full of buzz thanks to the acquisition of Odell Beckham Jr. and what appeared to be a strong draft, the Browns were slated to be winners.
Unfortunately for them, winning football games did not occur. In fact, the 2019 Browns had a worse record than the 2018 team, as they ended the season 6-10.
Kitchens was fired after one year. Mayfield didn’t take the next step, the offense sputtered and the team was a failure. Former general manager John Dorsey and the team also parted ways.
This offseason was all about signing depth and bringing in help for Mayfield. Tight end Austin Hooper and offensive lineman Jack Conklin were the headlining moves. Case Keenum was also signed.
New head coach Kevin Stefanski will have a lot of pressure to win right away. The talent is there, but the execution needs to be far better for the Browns to compete in a packed division this season.
The Pittsburgh Steelers and Baltimore Ravens are built to contend for either the division or the Super Bowl. Even the Cincinnati Bengals will be better this season as well.
In 2020, the Browns will play the NFC East and the AFC South, as well as a few matchups with AFC East and AFC West opponents. Of course, they also play each AFC North divisional opponent twice.
