NFL Schedule 2020: Breaking down the primetime games
Thursday Night Football: Best games
Finally, we get to Thursday Night Football, the league’s newest prime-time window. The package has changed hands a few times over the years, most recently ending up as a collaboration between FOX and NFL Network.
FOX will produce all the games but won’t start airing them on their broadcast network until Week 5 when they get a fun matchup between the Buccaneers and Chicago Bears in Chicago. They also managed to secure the NFC Championship Game rematch on Nov. 5 when the Packers head out west to take on the San Francisco 49ers.
FOX has been willing to let the NFL take some games that would go into its doubleheader window to bolster Thursday Night Football, and that decision pays off here. Another great contest comes on the Thursday after Thanksgiving, when the Cowboys travel to Baltimore to take on reigning MVP Lamar Jackson and the Ravens.
The NFL also has given Thursday Night Football a rare Friday game since the final Thursday in Week 16 falls on Christmas Eve. That game is a playoff rematch as the Saints look to get revenge on the Minnesota Vikings, who knocked them out last season.
