NFL schedule 2020: Biggest game for all 32 teams
New Orleans Saints: vs. Kansas City Chiefs
There were a lot of great teams last season, but few had as much upside as the New Orleans Saints. This team’s true mettle was revealed early in the year when Drew Brees went down with a thumb injury.
Teddy Bridgewater took over for Brees and went 5-0 in his absence, helping keep the Saints on course for a 13-3 season. New Orleans missed out on a first-round bye due to tiebreakers, resulting in an appearance in the wild card round.
Those tiebreakers ended up costing the Saints dearly as they were upset by the Minnesota Vikings, who may have gotten away with an offensive pass interference call on the game-winning touchdown in overtime. New Orleans let Bridgewater go in the offseason but has managed to add a few key pieces to their roster, including Emmanuel Sanders and Malcolm Jenkins.
There is no question that the Saints are still a Super Bowl contender so they will have multiple opportunities to set themselves up for postseason success. The schedule does provide the Saints with a great test in the form of a home matchup against the defending Super Bowl champions, the Kansas City Chiefs.
This will likely be the only matchup between Patrick Mahomes and Brees, so it would mean a lot for the Saints to win it. The fact that this matchup is in the Superdome should give a huge edge to the Saints as well.
