Weeks 5-8

Final. 24. 56. 34. 26

The gap between the Bengals and the Baltimore Ravens remains vast. While the Bengals got better this offseason, so did the Ravens. Maybe one day Joe Burrow will be able to hold his own vs. Lamar Jackson at M&T Bank Stadium. For now, there aren’t going to be a lot of wins for the Bengals in the Charm City in the foreseeable future. At least it’s not a blowout. Ravens, 34-24.

29. 46. Final. 25. 56

The Bengals have one of their patented, close but no cigar games of the season vs. the Indianapolis Colts. Philip Rivers will throw a pick or two to help keep the Bengals in this tight ball game. However, the Cincinnati defense surrenders a late touchdown the team cannot overcome in the final minutes. Indianapolis skates away with a victory that should have been lost. Colts, 29-25.

56. Final. 26. 53. 28

When the Bengals welcome their most hated rival to their place, Cincinnati will be ready for whatever Kevin Stefanski’s Cleveland Browns throw their way. A conservative game plan leads to the Browns undoing. A pair of fourth-quarter touchdowns helps propel the Bengals to one of their best victories of the season. Joe Burrow edges out Baker Mayfield in this one. Bengals, 28-26.

56. Final. 24. 35. 15

The Bengals will have their difficulties slowing Tennessee Titans running back Derrick Henry down. Joe Mixon will have his moments, but Henry will go off for something close to 200 yards in a punishing defeat for the Bengals. This is a game that will help propel the Titans towards the top of the AFC South, while Cincinnati begins to look like a last-place team again. Titans, 24-15.
