Tampa Bay Buccaneers 2020 schedule predictions: Picking every game
Weeks 15-17
The Falcons are a dangerous home team and they ambush Tampa Bay at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Atlanta absolutely routs the Buccaneers, winning 31-14 and raising questions about how good Tampa Bay actually is.
Lions’ head coach Matt Patricia, a former Patriots’ defensive coordinator, is capable of coming up with a scheme to slow Brady and the Buccaneers’ offense down. Tampa Bay is deeper as a team and wins a 20-17 slog in Motown.
The Falcons beat Tampa Bay at the end of the season when Jameis Winston threw a game-icing pick-six in overtime. The Buccaneers find themselves in another tight one with the Falcons but emerge with a 27-24 win thanks to a smoother performance at quarterback.
Overall Record: 11-5
Home Record: 6-2
Away Record: 5-3
The arrival of Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski should lead to a new era of football for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The team was already pretty talented before they arrived, but the addition of one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time should push Tampa Bay over the top.
The schedule is challenging for the Buccaneers but they are more than capable of handling. Our 11-5 projection may not win the NFC South since the New Orleans Saints are a strong team, but it should easily be good enough to get a wild card.
That should set up a very interesting path for Brady, who would presumably need to win three road playoff games in order to get to the Super Bowl. The New England Patriots were never a wild card team with Brady, who has always had the benefit of at least one home game in January.
If anyone is capable of rising to that challenge it is Brady, who has the most Super Bowl rings of any player in NFL history. Winning a seventh Super Bowl with Tampa Bay would further enhance Brady’s legend, and by all accounts, it looks like he will have a shot at it by ending the Buccaneers’ 13-year playoff drought.
