Final record: 9-7, Wild Card

There’s a ton of excitement for the Titans in 2020. On paper, the Titans look like a real threat in a rather sparse AFC. The Titans have the quarterback, coach, and supporting cast needed to be a playoff team. Another deep playoff run is the goal for the Titans, anything less will be nothing but a disappointment.

However, the schedule poses a real challenge and thus the matching 9-7 record to a year ago. The Titans are in a good division that, although the Texans regressed and the Jaguars appear to be tanking, won’t be easy. The Colts should be better after revamping their defensive front and quarterback position in the offseason, while Deshaun Watson will keep Houston interesting despite Bill O’Brien’s best efforts.

If Tannehill and Henry can repeat what they did last year — or even do a relatively good impression — the Titans are a playoff team with the ability to pull some upsets. The problem is believing Tannehill can consistently beat the likes of Patrick Mahomes and Lamar Jackson in big moments. Until then, Tennessee can’t be made out to exceed the third-best team in the AFC.
