John Hannah

John Hannah is the greatest guard in NFL history. During his tenure in Foxborough, Hannah is earned enshrinement into the Pro Football Hall of Fame, with 10 All-Pro teams and nine Pro Bowl appearances.

Hannah was 6-foot-2and 265 pounds, and was known for his speed, quickness, powerful legs, and athleticism.  Along with powerful legs, Hannah had big arms too. He would spend his offseasons working for his father’s distribution company. He would unload 50-pound bags and 100-pound vats on and off of trucks.

"Hannah explained “Loading trucks and doing real work keeps your muscles less rigid because they get used to working together.”"

He was known for having great durability, missing just five games in his 13-year career due to injury. In Super Bowl XX against the Chicago Bears, Hannah played with torn rotator cuffs in both shoulders and an injured knee.

Hannah is only one of two Patriots who went to the Hall of Fame without playing for another team, and was the first member of the team’s Hall of Fame. Last year, he was voted as the greatest guard in NFL history on the NFL 100 greatest list.
