2. Jadeveon Clowney – Tennessee Titans

A player like Jadeveon Clowney is another one of those guys who could fit on a number of teams. Teams like the Jets, Giants, Seahawks and Colts have been mentioned and would welcome one of the top free agents. The team that fits Clowney the best, though, is the Tennessee Titans.

The Titans are coming off a wild season that nobody could have seen coming. Mike Vrabel got his team to buy into his way and it led them all the way to the AFC Championship Game. Defensively, they lose a valuable piece in the secondary in Logan Ryan and longtime defensive lineman Jurrell Casey. The team did pick up a high-upside edge rusher in Vic Beasley Jr.

In the right scheme, Beasley can be effective, but he is one-dimensional. A player like Clowney is the every-down disruptive force off the edge the Titans need. Clowney’s presence would also help a player like Beasley considering the attention Clowney demands.

The major factor in this move is the relationship between Vrabel and Clowney. Vrabel was the linebackers coach in Houston with Clowney from 2014-16, but in 2017 Clowney had his best year. That year, Vrabel was promoted to defensive coordinator. Clowney finished with 9.5 sacks and 59 tackles in a Pro Bowl year.
