1. Russell Wilson

Until Murray makes the leap to the realm of the elite quarterbacks, Wilson’s position at the top of the tree in the NFC West is likely to remain unchallenged.

The Seahawks’ confounding commitment to taking the ball out of his hands and putting it in the possession of their running backs did not prevent Wilson from enjoying another stellar season.

Wilson ranked fourth, behind only Dak Prescott, Drew Brees and Patrick Mahomes, in Football Outsiders‘ Defensive-adjusted Yards Above Replacement metric, which gives the value of a quarterback’s performance compared to a replacement-level player.

Despite the sum of the Seahawks’ parts being comfortably less than the 49ers last year, Wilson had the Seahawks inches away from defeating San Francisco in Week 17 and winning the division.

His remarkable accuracy on downfield throws and innate talent for escaping pressure and locating his receivers on the move can keep the Seahawks in any game.

The Seahawks did not do much in the offseason to suggest they will be the premier team in the division in 2020.

Yet if Seattle makes what most view as the obvious move to put the onus on Wilson to win them games, then he has all the tools necessary to contend for the MVP award and put the Seahawks in position to win the NFC West for the first time since 2016.
