11. Bob Huggins, West Virginia

Salary: $3.965 million | Buyout: 5,512,500

An unmistakable figure in college basketball for over 30 years now, Bob Huggins has seen highs and lows throughout his career. He got his first Division I job in 1984 as he took over the Akron Zips and led them to success at 97-46. That earned him the job with the Cincinnati Bearcats, which is where the Huggy Bear really started to make his bones on a national level.

Huggins built quite a successful program throughout his time at Cincinnati, though he was often met with criticism. Ultimately, he went 399-127 over his 16 seasons with the Bearcats while making the NCAA Tournament in every season except for his first two and leading the team to a Final Four, three Elite Eights and four Sweet 16s. However, off-court trouble and a lack of academic standards led to his forced resignation.

He took a year off following his departure from Cincy, Huggins spent a year with Kansas State, going 23-12, before taking the West Virginia Mountaineers job. Since taking over in Morgantown, Huggy Bear has only continued to prove his merits as a basketball mind, be it with the genius of “Press Virginia” or otherwise.

With nine trips to March Madness in 13 seasons (including this year with the canceled NCAA Tournament) along with a Final Four appearance and five times going all the way to the Sweet 16, Huggins has built something quality and sustained in Morgantown, without question.
