LB Nigel Bradham

After losing Joe Schobert and Christian Kirksey in free agency, the Cleveland Browns could use another experienced linebacker. They drafted Jacob Phillips in the third round and have Mack Wilson, but Sione Takitaki is most likely not ready to start in the NFL after being a raw third-round pick out of BYU last year.

Takitaki could surprise fans, but the Browns should hedge their bets with a proven starting middle linebacker in Nigel Bradham.

As with Jason Peters, the Philadelphia Eagles have a strong chance of re-signing Bradham, but the Browns could pounce on the former Buffalo Bills fourth-round pick before then.

Bradham recorded 61 tackles with five passes defended last season as a solid contributor on the Eagles defense. He’s had two 100-tackle seasons in his career and was once an important player for the Eagles, even producing 88 tackles and a career-high eight passes defended in the year they won the Super Bowl.

A steady three-down starter on the inside, Bradham could be a cheap, but important signing at the linebacker position for the Browns. There are still areas to patch up on defense, and linebacker looks like it could be the biggest priority for Cleveland to address in the final wave of free agency.
