This offseason, the Denver Broncos saw some changes at the cornerback position. The club orchestrated a trade to acquire talented A.J. Bouye from the Jacksonville Jaguars for a fourth-round pick this year.

Meanwhile, veteran Chris Harris Jr., a Super Bowl 50 champion and a four-time Pro Bowler during his stay in the Mile High City, enterted the free-agent market and landed with the AFC West rival Los Angeles Chargers. The team also went out and secured the services of University of Iowa cornerback Michael Ojemudia with the first of their three third-round picks in late April.

In 2019, the Broncos finished 11th in the league in pass defense, allowing a very-respectable 19 TD tosses while picking off 10 passes. The club leaders in terms of passes defensed were safeties Justin Simmons (15) and 2019 free-agent addition Kareem Jackson (10). The former also had nearly half (4) of the team’s interceptions.

While he was a major disappointment with the New York Jets, veteran cornerback Trumaine Johnson could perhaps benefit from a fresh start in Denver. He inked a lucrative five-year deal with the Green and White in 2018 but was cut loose earlier this year after appearing in only seven games this past season.
