3. Aqib Talib

Zimmer has shown in the past with Terrance Newman that he can help veteran corners find a fountain of youth. The Vikings should add Aqib Talib and see if the same is true for him.

While there are better options available such as Eli Apple or Logan Ryan, they come with a much higher price tag. However, a veteran like Talib could prove useful and affordable.

If this transaction works out, Talib could be an impact player that improves this secondary from a year ago. In 2019, cornerback Xavier Rhodes was having his career-worst performance. With Rhodes and Trae Waynes out of the picture in 2020, the Vikings now turn to two late first round picks to cover both sides of the field. Mike Hughes, their 2018 first-round pick, and rookie Jeff Gladney who was selected 31st-overall in the 2020 NFL Draft.

Having Talib in a rotation with these corners is worth a gamble. His fiery personality could add some needed energy on this Vikings defense. As someone who knows what it takes to win a Super Bowl, his championship DNA is much needed for this Vikings team that could be Super Bowl contenders in 2020 if things shape out.
