3. Curtis Joseph

Much better known for his time in two other Canadian markets, including Edmonton, Joseph had his shortest stay out of six NHL teams with the 2007-08 Flames.

At 40 going on 41, Joseph played nine regular season and two playoff games for Calgary. The minute muncher Kiprusoff played 74 regular season and seven postseason contests that year.

CuJo closed out his career the next season in a more familiar setting: Toronto. That was where he was a Vezina finalist in 1998-99 and 1999-2000.

Between his first run with the Maple Leafs and preceding tenures with the Oilers and Blues, Joseph earned Vezina votes seven times, Hart Trophy votes twice, and All-Star consideration six times. In his first year on the Vezina ballot (1992-93), he finished third while backstopping St. Louis with a league-leading .911 save percentage.

The accolades stopped by the time he went to Detroit in 2002, then Phoenix after the 2004-05 lockout. But at least with those two organizations, Joseph logged two full seasons, and played and won a double-digit tally of games in all of them.

Not so with the Flames. As Kiprusoff’s backup, CuJo started five games, served relief duty in four others, and went 3-2-0.

That 2007-08 season was also his first without a shutout (of which he had 51 in his career) since 1995-96. In addition, Joseph was a decent puckhandler who tallied 31 assists in 943 NHL games. The Flames were one of two employers (the Red Wings being the other) he never did that with.
