2. Lamar Miller

Dating back to the start of his career with the Miami Dolphins, Miller has always delivered less than it feels like he’s supposed to. He also missed all of last season with a torn ACL and MCL, which was not ideal in the final year of his contract with the Houston Texans.

Miller has at least 210 carries in each of his last three healthy seasons with the Texans, which yielded fantasy finishes of RB18 (2016), RB14 (2017) and RB22 (2018) in standard scoring leagues. In 2014 and 2015, he was a top-10 fantasy running back.

Should he land somewhere, and he probably will at some point as he approaches a year since his knee injury, Miller lines up to be a backup who could get just enough work to diminish the lead back’s fantasy upside and offer (at best) middle of the road fantasy impact himself. That of course assumes he’s healthy, so a small role is more likely at the outset of the season.

No reports have yet tied the Seahawks to interest in Miller. But that could change quickly, since the price will be right and he had a solid history of production before his knee injury. Now we’re getting to backs who could actively hurt Chris Carson’s fantasy upside this year.
