Dez Bryant
Cowboys WR Dez Bryant /

1. Dez Bryant

Often forgotten but always seeking a new opportunity, Dez Bryant is ready to return to the NFL in a limited role. After tearing his ACL in his brief tenure with the New Orleans Saints, Bryant has been flirting with the Dallas Cowboys for months to no avail. After Jerry Jones opted to draft CeeDee Lamb, there’s no guarantee the ‘Boys will give Bryant his spot back.

Yet, similar to Thomas, Bryant still has some ability as a red zone threat and big body on the outside. With Lockett taking up the slot, Bryant can attract attention away from the Kansas State product, providing Russell Wilson with an wider window to hit one of his favorite targets.

Surely not as sexy as adding the likes of Gordon, Bryant brings the big-name notoriety that would at least intrigue the Hawks fanbase. Whether John Schneider admits it or not, popularity plays a big role here, as neither Gordon nor Dez have proven much of late in terms of on-field production. Bryant’s injury risk is very real, taking away any advantage he might otherwise have over Gordon in terms of accountability. Either player would be a real flyer, but considering we’re in mid-May, that’s as good as it’ll get in NFL Free Agency.
