5 famous players you forgot were on the Dallas Stars

Dallas Stars: Eric Lindros
One of the most dominant forwards from the 1990s and early 2000s never won a Stanley Cup. The power-forward in Eric Lindros haunted opponents while skating for the Philadelphia Flyers from 1992-93 until the end of the 1999-00 campaign.
The notorious No. 88 recorded 659 points as a Broad Street Bully and later ditched the orange and black for the New York Rangers on Broadway. Fans remember Lindros’ dramatic departure to join Philadelphia’s heated rivals and hockey enthusiasts likely recall Lindros’ dream come true moment when he signed with the Toronto Maple Leafs for the 2005-06 season.
Believe it or not, but that wasn’t Lindros’ final campaign in the NHL.
The Hockey Hall of Famer took one more shot at Lord Stanley when he headed south and laced up the skates for the Dallas Stars. Lindros dressed in 47 games with the Stars during the 2006-07 season and while he chipped in 21 assists, Lindros struggled to find the back of the net.
The 1991 first-overall-selection netted five goals during his final NHL season and collected zero points in three playoff games with the squad later that spring.
Lindros was remembered most for his uncanny ability to find the back of the net in South Philly and his fearless efforts to drive the net. The center took home both the Hart Memorial Trophy and Ted Lindsay Award in 1994-95, but sadly appeared in just one Stanley Cup Final – only to lose to the Detroit Red Wings in 1996-97.
He also earned himself a spotlight when he refused to play for the Quebec Nordiques, who was the team that selected him first overall. The blockbuster deal sent goaltender Ron Hextall and superstar forward Peter Forsberg to Quebec, along with other players and draft picks, just for Lindros.
Don’t worry, hockey fans won’t ever see a trade like that again, but what’s more surprising might be that Lindros finished his career with the Dallas Stars.
