Auction Drafts Are More Strategic

There’s strategy in determining which player you nominate. You’re not just focused on your own team. Do you have no interest in Odell Beckham Jr.? Do you think he will have another lackluster season? You could nominate him early and have someone use up a large portion of their money, while also setting a market price for the wide receiver you are most interested in.

You also must factor in managing your budget. One strategy suggests you save enough money in the end to bid up the player’s that you think are undervalued in the $5 or less market when everyone is low on money. But, other strategies suggest spending all of your money early to make sure you get your favorite/best players no matter the cost.

Different strategies yield different results. There is no right strategy to take. Every Auction Draft is unique and full of twists and turns. You can’t simply prepare for an auction draft like you could a usual snake draft.

I hope you have gained some insight into how auction drafts work and maybe you will give it a go for one of your leagues.
