New Orleans Saints x-factor: Alvin Kamara

If there was a member of the New Orleans Saints who had a disappointing year in 2019, it was Alvin Kamara. The running back was expected to deliver huge numbers with Mark Ingram off to Baltimore, but he was merely good.

Injuries played a role as Kamara missed two games with knee and ankle issues. Those problems clearly bothered Kamara a bit as he wasn’t quite as explosive as he was the previous two seasons, resulting in tremendous disappointments for fantasy owners.

The Saints still won 13 games with a good Kamara, but the best way to raise the offense’s ceiling is to get a great performance out of Kamara in 2020. The versatility that Kamara adds to the offense, particularly with his pass-catching skills, means the sky is the limit for him going forward.

Getting the most out of Kamara is the key to a truly explosive Saints’ offense, which needs to make sure Drew Brees doesn’t have to do everything. A good running game will do that and the leader of the ground game has to be Kamara.
