3. New England Patriots

With Tom Brady gone, the Patriots are set to go with second-year man Jarrett Stidham as their starting quarterback.

Veteran Brian Hoyer was brought back, and he’s also a possibility to start. Unless there’s an unknown (and never to be known) plan to “Tank For Trevor” (Lawrence) in the 2021 draft, it’s hard to see Bill Belichick entering the season with that quarterback situation. He has more equity and job security than any NFL head coach, but it’s even harder to imagine Belichick actively tanking a season.

Rosen would need time to learn another new offense before being thrown into the fire. But he seems to have the high level of intelligence Belichick values in a quarterback, and 2020 looks like the year for Stidham to show he has something (or not) anyway.

Offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels could leave New England for a head coaching job at any point, and this will be the year he can show himself well as the Patriots move on after Brady. But in a broad sense, the tight structure of the “Patriot Way” could be just what Rosen needs to get his career on track.
