2. Aaron Jones

There wasn’t a player on the Green Bay Packers who took a bigger step forward in 2019 than Aaron Jones. After splitting carries his first two years Jones became the main man in the backfield last season and delivered a massive performance.

Jones led the league in rushing touchdowns with 16, running for over 1,000 yards and catching 49 passes for 474 yards with three more scores. This emphasis on the running game came from new head coach Matt LaFleur, who strived to create a more balanced offense that relied on play-action.

The surge in production couldn’t have come at a better time for Jones, who is set to become a free agent after this season. Green Bay may already be preparing for life without Jones after spending their second-round pick on Boston College running back A.J. Dillon in April.

Dillon should work behind Jones for now as Green Bay should continue to feed him the football as much as he can possibly take it. Jones will undoubtedly want to improve on his 2019 totals to help his case in free agency next spring and that could in turn help the Packers continue to deliver a highly productive offense.
