Cleveland Browns Mount Rushmore: T Joe Thomas

He entered the NFL as the third overall pick in the 2007 NFL draft. University of Wisconsin tackle Joe Thomas very quietly went about his business that afternoon. But he would go on to make plenty of noise once he was on the field. The 10-time Pro Bowler would not miss a snap until deep in his career and it would add up to a total of 10,363 offensive plays from 2007-17 (according to the Cleveland Browns and via NFL.com).

During his rookie season in ’07, the club finished 10-6 but came up short of the playoffs via a tiebreaker. Unfortunately for the reliable performer, the team hasn’t finished with a winning record since and Thomas would play for his share of head coaches and with a slew of different quarterbacks. That final season in 2017 saw him play only seven games. And it was the only year that the six-time All-Pro was not named to the Pro Bowl.

Thomas would be a member of the Class of 2023 when it comes to the Pro Football Hall of Fame. He’s been the brightest spot for a reborn franchise that has had few very highlights the past 21 seasons.
