Parick Mahomes third-best play: The Pringle Pass

Following his first season as a starter that saw him win the 2018 Most Valuable Player award, nothing could shock anyone anymore when it comes to his plays. And then in 2019, he seemed to only get better.

Many will remember his play against the San Francisco 49ers in 2018 where he ran around from defenders before finding his receiver in the back of the endzone for a fantastic touchdown. On Oct. 6, 2019, Mahomes mirrored (maybe even bettered) that throw against the Indianapolis Colts.

Down 7-3 in the second quarter, Mahomes and the Chiefs faced a 3rd and 18. A situation where most teams would dump off and accept the field goal. The Chiefs are not most teams. As not one, but three Colts linemen came near to taking down Mahomes for a sack, he scrambled by both before delivering a 30-yard rocket to wide receiver Byron Pringle for the score.

For most players, that is a career highlight that hangs around until the end of your career. When it’s Patrick Mahomes, there is a chance that it’s replaced the next season. The Chiefs ended up losing the game, 19-13, but it was a phenomenal play no matter the end result.

And while the AFC South remained a theme on this count down, the Tennessee Titans will return to the Mahomes count down once again, as he burned them for the third time. And it wasn’t his arm that got them this time.
