1. Christian McCaffrey

The Panthers lost a lot of high-priced veterans this offseason but they went the other way when it comes to McCaffrey. Making him the highest paid running back in the NFL sends a clear signal that he will be the focus of the team’s offense in 2020 and beyond.

In fairness to McCaffrey, he’s more than just a running back. His ability to make big plays in the passing game sets him apart from the majority of his peers. His route tree is only going to get more complex in Brady’s offense.

Arguably the biggest key for McCaffrey will be to continue to showcase the exceptional durability that’s made him so valuable. The Panthers might want to decrease his workload slightly to protect their investment, but McCaffrey has to stay healthy to give this offense any realistic chance of success.

The Panthers probably won’t win a ton of games in 2020, but McCaffrey is still going to rack up a ton of stats. He’s the brightest light on a franchise that’s bereft of high-end talent. Look for the former Stanford star to keep putting up video game numbers in Carolina for the foreseeable future.
