5 random players you forgot were on the Minnesota Wild
4. Alexandre Daigle
Daigle was the No. 1 overall pick in the 1993 draft by the Ottawa Senators. But he had a high of just 51 points in four full seasons there, and he was traded to Philadelphia in January of 1998.
From there Daigle became a journeyman, spending time with the Flyers, the Tampa Bay Lightning, New York Rangers, Pittsburgh Penguins and the Wild over his final five-plus seasons in the NHL.
Over two seasons with the Wild, Daigle had 79 points (25 goals, 54 assists) in 124 games. That 124 games is the most games he played for a team other than the Senators by good margin (68 games for the Flyers is the next most for him).
The Wild waived Daigle in March of 2006, and sent him to their AHL affiliate (the Houston Aeros). He never played for the Aeros, as he was subsequently sent to the Manchester Monarchs in the AHL to finish his playing days stateside.
Daigle played four seasons in Switzerland once his time in the NHL was done, highlighted by three full seasons and two championships with Davos in the Swiss National League A.
Daigle is high on the list of all-time NHL draft busts. But his last refuge in the NHL was in Minnesota with the Wild.
