San Francisco 49ers all-time Mount Rushmore
Which legends will make the San Francisco 49ers’ all-time Mount Rushmore?
There are few franchises in the NFL that have experienced more glory than the San Francisco 49ers. Head coach Bill Walsh helped the 49ers become the team of the 80s, winning three Super Bowls with Joe Montana.
George Seifert succeeded Walsh and won the 49ers’ next two championships, including one with Steve Young in the 1994 season. The NFL’s 100th-anniversary team is filled with great 49ers, a sign of the team’s impact on football history.
As a result, the 49ers’ all-time Mount Rushmore is very hard to crack. Dwight Clark, who has the starring role in one of the most iconic plays in football history, didn’t make the cut. Other 49ers’ greats who aren’t on Mount Rushmore include Y.A. Tittle, John Brodie, Bob St. Clair and Leo Nomellini won’t be there either.
So who did make the list for the 49ers? Read on to find out and expect a bit of a nostalgia trip for those Super Bowl glory years in San Francisco.
