4. Neil Smith, defensive line

If you have issues with Neil Smith, you need to get over them.

Some Chiefs fans might roll their eyes at the inclusion of Smith here given that he went on to play for the Denver Broncos (and even the San Diego Chargers), winning two Super Bowls with John Elway in the process. However, that success even with a hated rival should in no way negate his nine incredible years in Kansas City.

Smith was a former first round pick of the Chiefs back in 1988, but it wasn’t until his second season that his well-rounded game would become a nightmare for opposing quarterbacks. Not only could Smith stop the run, but he was a monster of a pass rusher. In his Chiefs tenure, Smith put up 85.5 sacks, a total that still ranks third all-time for the franchise, and his career mark of 104.5 has him within the NFL’s top 30 in history.

We’ve yet to mention Smith’s 30 career forced fumbles or 4 interceptions. It’s ridiculous that a player with two championship rings, six Pro Bowl appearances, and devastating career totals is waiting for induction into the Hall of Fame.
