My two last wide receivers to avoid are two young guys that might have too much on their plate. Both had good rookie seasons, but what can you expect out of them in 2020?

I am avoiding these two players below not because of their talent, more so because of their situation. Let’s get into it.

AJ Brown (currently ranked as: WR 11): AJ Brown had a tremendous rookie season. Several highlight plays of him running through would-be tacklers and outrunning everyone on the field. But that’s the issue there. There were only ‘several’ of those plays. If you watched the Tennessee Titans inspiring playoff run, you noticed that they ran the ball 99% (that might be an exaggeration) of the time . They did not want to put the ball in Ryan Tannehill‘s hands if they didn’t have to. Heck, they even let Derrick Henry throw a pass. I compare AJ Brown’s production to Tyreek Hill’s in the sense that they are boom-or-bust. Tyreek Hill is on the much more fantasy friendly offense which is the reason he is ranked so high. AJ Brown just does not see the targets that a player being drafted as a borderline WR1 should be seeing. Being drafted near him with much higher floors than AJ Brown are players like: Adam Thielen (WR12), who is now the bonafide WR1 on the Vikings, or Juju Smith-Schuster (WR13), who has the return of Big Ben in 2020 to have a better season than he did in 2019. Avoid AJ Brown at his current ADP. If you can pick him up later in the 4th round as your WR2, go for it. He’s just not a WR1 at this point in his career.

Last but certainly not least…

Terry McLaurin (currently ranked as: WR24): Maybe this is a lack of faith in Dwayne Haskins, or maybe the fact that the Redskins are terrible. Either way, I don’t want Terry McLaurin near my roster until I see his quarterback position or his team improve. It isn’t his fault that he was drafted to the Redskins. Terry seems like a nice guy….but, that doesn’t mean he needs to be drafted to your team. Similar to AJ Brown’s rookie season: Terry had several good games, and several games where he was barely targeted. That’s just too inconsistent to take as your WR3. I want someone that I could plug into my flex that is reliable or that has more upside than Terry does. Someone like a Keenan Allen (WR23) or TY Hilton (WR25) or DJ Chark (WR26). All of these 3 receivers are more consistent, or have more upside than someone like Terry McLaurin.

These two players, along with the other eight players talked about above, are just a few of the players to avoid this upcoming Fantasy Football Season. If you disagree, or have your own players you are avoiding, let me know in the comments below.

Good luck in your drafts these upcoming months!
