The two players below have been very productive in their careers. This just might not be the year for them, but then again, 2020 hasnāt really been anyoneās year.
Leonard Fournette (currently ranked as: RB13): So many question marks surrounding Leonard Fournette. The team appears to be headed in a different direction when they didnāt pick up his 5th year option. They appear hesitant to pay him the money that he will demand. Could this motivate him to go and ball out this season in an attempt to show the Jaguars front-office that they were wrong and they should keep him? Yes, certainly he could, but I just donāt see it. This is too high to be drafting someone that you donāt know if youāll be able to count on as a weekly starter. Writing this at the end of May, Fournette is still a Jacksonville Jaguar. He has been in the middle of some trade rumors so he could be traded between now and your fantasy football draft, but I donāt think any trade will put him in a better situation than he is nowā¦.which isnāt saying much. He could be traded to the Eagles and now heās in a committee with Miles Sanders, or to the Buccaneers who are a pass-friendly team, pass-catching not being one of Leonardās strengths. In summary, donāt draft Fournette to be one of your running-back starters. If you somehow get him as a high-end flex option or your RB3, I commend you. Job well done.
LeāVeon Bell (currently ranked as: RB15): As mentioned earlier, I am a Jets fanā¦.sadly. However, LeāVeon Bell is a very talented player and easily the Jetsā best skill position player. Unfortunately, Mr. Adam Gase does not seem to like LeāVeon. For whatever reason, he doesnāt like to utilize LeāVeon in a way that showcases his strengths. Instead, we run some draw plays and get a quick 3 and out and thatās the end of the drive. I do expect the Jets to be an improved offense, just not enough to invest a second or third round pick on LeāVeon. However, if given the option between Leonard Fournette or LeāVeon Bell (and I HAVE to choose one), I would take LeāVeon. I expect the Jets offense to be much better than the Jaguars and LeāVeon should be a consistent-ish fantasy player. Still not someone I would want to be the RB1 or 2 on my team. I would prefer to get a good quality receiver in the second and third round and target a RB later like Devin Singletary (RB25) who has high-upside to be my RB2.
Moving on to some wide receivers.
