2.10 – Will Hastings (WR – NE)
Jarrett Stidham’s former Auburn teammate and slot receiver Will Hastings will be looking to parlay his pre-existing rapport with the Patriots new starting quarterback into a 55 man roster spot.
He was never higher than third on the team in receptions while at Auburn, so expectations should be tempered for a receiver who will be fighting it out to make the roster over Jakobi Meyers, Jeff Thomas, and Marqise Lee. Recruited by some teams as a kicker coming out of high school, Hastings has the traits one looks for in a slot receiver.
He tested better than expected at his Pro Day, and has the toughness and route running skills to be a potential future slot option. Making the roster will be the toughest task, but if he can impress enough to avoid the practice squad, he will become a dynasty asset. For those of us who hold our rookie drafts prior to August, he is someone to stash on your taxi squad.
The #Patriots signed undrafted free-agent Will Hastings, a wide receiver from Auburn that played with Jarrett Stidham.
