2.02 – Juwan Johnson (WR – NO)

Juwan Johnson is a talented redshirt senior who never quite got it going at the collegiate level. His best season came as a redshirt sophomore while at Penn State when he collected 54 passes for 701 receiving yards. However, he managed to score just one time, and was sparingly used as a junior. He would make the move as a graduate transfer to Oregon to play with Justin Herbert, where he flashed enough to land himself some fans in NFL front offices.

It certainly did not hurt that he was someone you were forced to take notice of when scouting Herbert, but there is no denying that he showed enough to make one believe that he has a chance at making a NFL roster. He does not have the most reliable hands (eight drops on 51 targets in 2019), an area he is going to have to improve in if he wants to stick in the NFL.

He has enough skill in the red zone and after the catch to intrigue, but there is a reason he dropped to the second round in this mock. He is a worthwhile gamble for the New Orleans Saints, but is someone to monitor as opposed to adding in dynasty leagues. It should also be noted that he is a big enough body to make an eventual successful conversion to tight end. It will be interesting to see how he fares with Jameis Winston and Taysom Hill if/when the Saints play their preseason games.
