The soccer spotlight has shined brightly on the Bundesliga the past few weeks. Here are five players who should consider a move to Italy.

German soccer is getting loads of attention these days since it’s the only one of Europe’s top five domestic leagues back in action after the pandemic put seasons on hold back in March.

For teams, it’s a chance to win games — albeit with no fans in the stands to avoid the virus’ spread — but players have a real shot of raising their value by doing well. Indeed, whatever happens in the Bundesliga the next few weeks could have a very big impact on the summer transfer season.

It is a great chance for Europe’s big clubs to scout talent and decide who to spend money on for next season. For some players, especially younger ones, the Bundesliga being the only game on TV allows for them to gain wider exposure than normal had the soccer calendar remained intact.

Serie A clubs, especially the big spenders such as Juventus, Inter Milan, AC Milan, Lazio, Roma and Napoli, should be using this time to scout Bundesliga talent ahead of their June 20 league restart date. Whether they need a strong defender or a red-hot striker, German soccer has proven to be fertile ground for it. While only seven players with German passports play in Serie A, past Bundesliga stars like Jurgen Klinsmann and Lothar Matthaus once played in Serie A.

As the end of the club season bleeds into what would have been the summer transfer window, here are five players currently in the Bundesliga who should make the jump to Italy.
