The Auburn football schedule has four SEC opponents in October.

Oct. 3 – vs. Kentucky

Mark Stoops probably deserves more credit than he gets for the job he’s done at Kentucky, both in terms of building up the program to being competitive and with adjusting to hardships. Having said that, I have major concerns about the Wildcats offense this season, even if Auburn’s defense has its own question marks. At home, the Tigers get the W. Prediction: Win

Oct. 10 – at Georgia

As mentioned, the Auburn football schedule in even years is none too kind as they get Georgia as the cross-division matchup and play at Alabama. In 2020, they just so happen to go on the road to Athens too. Kirby Smart’s Bulldogs are in the running for the best defense in the country and should cause Nix a ton of problems. While Georgia’s offense has questions that may limit their ceiling, the Dawgs come out on top in this one. Prediction: Loss

Oct. 17 – vs. Texas A&M

It might be time to put up or shut up for Kellen Mond and Jimbo Fisher at Texas A&M. Last season, they had a mammoth schedule as a built-in excuse and they didn’t come out on top against elite competition. While the Aggies might be formidable outside of the SEC, I don’t see them hanging with the better teams in the conference, a group that includes Auburn. Prediction: Win

Oct. 31 – at Mississippi State

Mike Leach taking over in Starkville is going to be fascinating to watch. We don’t have much of a track record of his Air Raid style against SEC competition nor do we know how he’ll recruit at Mississippi State with higher stakes. While some of that may be long-term questioning, that’s relevant because the Bulldogs aren’t going to be ready to compete right now in any capacity. Prediction: Win
