NBA Draft 2020: 5 best fits for Killian Hayes
2. Phoenix Suns
Devin Booker is one of the best shooters in the NBA, but he needs a point guard capable of creating more open looks for him. Ricky Rubio does a decent job of that at the moment, but his advanced age makes him a poor fit to pair with Booker for the long haul.

The Suns would love the chance to build around a backcourt of Hayes and Booker. The two are tailor-made to play together in the modern NBA. Booker’s elite shooting would cover up any struggles Hayes has in that department. The young point guard’s size and playmaking would alleviate Booker’s need to create scoring opportunities off the dribble at such a high volume.
Admittedly, the duo might struggle to play together in high leverage situations on defense, but Phoenix should be more concerned with qualifying for the playoffs than what they might do once they get into a tough series. The offensive potential of a Hayes/Booker backcourt is more than enough to assume that defensive risk.
The Suns might need a little luck for Hayes to fall to them on draft night, but they should snap him up if they get the opportunity. His feel for the game would open up the floor for a team with a ton of offensive weapons.
