The Florida football schedule sees LSU and Georgia in a tough October stretch.

Oct. 3 – vs. South Carolina

After going just 4-8 last season, the Gamecocks should be better in the 2020 season. The problem is that I don’t believe their defense will be good enough to stop Trask and the Florida offense nor do I believe the offense will be good enough to consistently put up points against any SEC defense this season. In Gainesville, this one will never be in doubt for UF. Prediction: Win

Oct. 10 – vs. LSU

Facing the reigning National Champions is always going to be a daunting task and, despite the losses LSU suffered to the NFL, that’s going to be the case here. The Tigers still boast elite talent and have players lying in wait to step into bigger roles. While that may be true, there are just too many holes to fill for me to think that Coach O’s group will be able to go on the road to Gainesville and pick up this win. Prediction: Win

Oct. 17 – at Ole Miss

Seeing Todd Grantham and Lane Kiffin match up in a battle of Florida’s defense against Ole Miss’s offense should be quite enthralling as it’s a battle of strengths. However, the Rebels defense doesn’t have the goods to handle the Gators offense and, while this might be a high-scoring affair, Mullen’s group should be able to go to Oxford and pick up a victory. Prediction: Win

Oct. 31 – vs. Georgia (in Jacksonville, FL)

This is the one that most Florida football fans care about more than the rest. Until the Gators can get past Georgia, they likely aren’t going to win the SEC East and, thus, aren’t going to be competing for a spot in the College Football Playoff.

But for as much as the Florida offense should progress with Trask, I don’t think they’re a match for the Bulldogs defense, a group that should be one of the best units in the country. Georgia plays smash-mouth on defense to get yet another win in Jacksonville. Prediction: Loss
