Georgia football schedule 2020: Predicting every Georgia Bulldogs game
Georgia football schedule features a Week 3 SEC litmus test at Alabama.
Sept. 7 – vs. Virginia (in Atlanta, GA – on Monday)
Though Bronco Mendenhall deserves a ton of credit for what he’s done at Virginia, the simple truth is that the Cavaliers offense is going to be in a bad spot after losing Bryce Perkins. This Georgia defense is going to feast on Monday night in Atlanta to open the 2020 season and, even if the offense has hiccups, it won’t matter. Prediction: Win
Sept. 12 – vs. East Tennessee State
After a short five-day week before their next game, there’s no reason for the Bulldogs to be concerned in their home-opener between the hedges. East Tennessee State doesn’t offer much more than a stepping stone before traveling to Tuscaloosa. However, this might serve as a great time for Georgia’s offense to try and find some footing early in the year. Prediction: Win
Sept. 19 – at Alabama
Alabama has had Georgia’s number since Smart took over the Bulldogs program, most famously in the National Championship Game that witnessed the birth of Tua Tagovailoa as a Crimson Tide legend. This Week 3 battle should be a defensive struggle as both teams will be looking for their footing on offense due to big transitions at quarterback. Having said that, I think Bama just has more immediate answers on offense, giving them the win at home. Prediction: Loss
Sept. 26 – vs. Louisiana-Monroe
Coming off the loss to Bama, the Bulldogs defense is likely going to be ready to send a message and that’s bad news for Louisiana-Monroe. Not that this group really stands much of a chance of going into Athens and picking up a victory but expect a dominant performance from Smart’s club as they look to send a message before the rest of their SEC schedule. Prediction: Win
