Each NFL team’s best quarterback of all time
Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Brad Johnson (2001-2004)
The Buccaneers haven’t had a great history of quarterbacks so we’ll go with the man who helped the franchise win its only Super Bowl.
The Tampa Bay defense was a dominant force for a long time but they finally got over the hump with Brad Johnson, who made enough plays to help the Buccaneers win it all. Don’t be shocked if a stellar run from Tom Brady pushes him past Johnson in a future edition of this list.
Tennessee Titans: Warren Moon (1984-1993)
We’re going back to the Houston Oilers days for this pick of Warren Moon, one of football’s most prolific passers. Moon was a man before his time, a prolific deep passer who helped the Oilers develop one of the most explosive offenses in the NFL.
The Oilers made the playoffs seven straight years with Moon but couldn’t break through to a Super Bowl appearance, which isn’t enough to seriously damage his legacy.
Washington Redskins: Joe Theismann (1974-1985)
He is more known for the horrific injury that ended his career but Joe Theismann is still the best quarterback the Washington Redskins have ever had.
Theismann set numerous franchise records for the Redskins, including the most wins and passing yards for a quarterback while winning Super Bowl XVII. It is fair to wonder how the end of Theismann’s career would have played out if Lawrence Taylor’s sack on a Monday Night Football game in 1985 didn’t lead to a gruesome leg injury.
