28. Carolina Panthers
One major criticism in these rankings will be the use of black for no apparent reason. That is definitely a big problem for Carolina, whose black jerseys don’t seem to add much to the team’s overall color scheme. A lot of the problems that newer teams have comes from their recency, particularly when it comes to finding a new look that works in comparison to classic teams.
27. New England Patriots
This is the third uniform redesign of the offseason that was a swing and a miss. For a team that draws its inspiration from the American revolutionaries in Massachusetts, it is mindboggling that the Patriots continue to use the wrong shade of blue. A throwback to the ’90s uniforms which had the right scheme would look a lot sharper in that respect.
26. Houston Texans
The Texans have a lot of different potential looks they can utilize for a uniform but none of them really pop that much. The red alternates are popular with fans but are a bit loud for regular usage. The Color Rush look Houston came up with is a step in the right direction, which should indicate the Texans need to simplify.
25. Miami Dolphins
Repeat after me: newer is not always better. The Miami Dolphins did have one of the most classic uniforms out there but lost a lot of their charm in an attempt to “modernize.” The current kits that the Dolphins use don’t stand out like their traditional uniforms used to.
