Alabama, LSU looms large on the Texas A&M football schedule

Nov. 7 – vs. Ole Miss Rebels

The first year of the Lane Kiffin era for the Ole Miss Rebels will be a fascinating one to watch. The Rebels have an offense that should be able to immediately thrive under Kiffin’s guidance. If this game were in Oxford, there’s a real chance that the Aggies would face a real challenge here. But with A&M coming off a bye week and returning home for this contest, expect the Texas A&M football team to grab a solid win here. Prediction: Texas A&M wins 45-28.

Nov. 14 – vs. Vanderbilt Commodores

There’s not much reason to expect Vanderbilt to be able to compete in this game. The Commodores are coming off of a 3-9 season and this game is in Aggieland. A&M wins this one big. Prediction: Texas A&M wins 56-7.

Nov. 21 – at Alabama Crimson Tide

Now, this game should be intriguing. The Aggies should be able to enter into this game with just one loss and the Crimson Tide will almost certainly be undefeated before meeting up with Texas A&M. Nearly eight years prior to this matchup, Johnny Manziel helped lead the Aggies to a monumental upset over the Crimson Tide. Will Kellen Mond and the Aggies be able to snag a similar victory over Nick Saban? Alabama has experienced a lot of turnover when it comes to assistant coaches over the past few seasons and the Crimson Tide have lost Tua Tagovailoa. That said, this is still Alabama and the Crimson Tide is still coached by Nick Saban. Alabama wins this one. Prediction: Alabama wins 37-28.

Nov. 28 – vs. LSU Tigers

There’s not much working in LSU’s favor here. The Tigers have lost a lot from both sides of the ball, including star players and coaches. The biggest thing that LSU has going for it in this particular game would be that the Aggies would be coming off of a tough loss to Alabama. Other than that, with all LSU lost in terms of production from its remarkable unbeaten team in 2019, it seems likely that the Tigers step back a bit and that they lose this game. Prediction: Texas A&M wins 34-31.

Final regular-season record: 10-2 (6-2 SEC)
