The battle for Korey Foreman is heating up with LSU and Georgia.

The battle for No. 1 recruit Korey Foreman is heating up, with LSU and Georgia vying for the lead.

While plenty of programs coveting the Corona, California native, Foreman is getting close to narrowing his list of finalists down to a group of five-seven schools. With LSU riding the wave of momentum from winning the national championship, Heisman and having 14 NFL Draft picks last year and Georgia turning into a recruiting powerhouse under Kirby Smart, the battle for Foreman could be another classic SEC battle.

Korey Foreman reveals Georgia and LSU are hot on his trail.

“The two schools in the south recruiting me the hardest right now are LSU and Georgia, Foreman said, via 247Sports. I talk with Clemson and Alabama too but it’s really those two schools that I talk with every day.”

Foreman’s decision to decommit from Clemson in April gave the SEC powers a chance to get back in the mix for the 6-foot-2, 265-pound defensive end from Centennial High School.

While Clemson and Alabama are formidable foes in any recruiting season, Georgia and LSU have solidified themselves as equals, with Ed Orgeron using the momentum gifted to him by Joe Burrow and the multitude of future NFL stars on LSU’s title team that were selected in April’s Draft.

Smart, meanwhile, can boast himself as a recruiting heavyweight, having secured the top 2020 class by landing five-star recruits Kelee Ringo, Broderick Jones, Jalen Carter and Darnell Washington.

In the 2021 cycle, LSU has the No. 9 class in the country, with Georgia rapidly-rising behind them at No. 15 according to the 247Sports Team Rankings. However, the Bulldogs current crop lacks star power, having gotten only one five-star commit thus far in the 2021 class.

The addition of Foreman to either school would greatly boost their ranking, and provide them with one of the better pass-rushing prospects we’ve seen in some time.

In addition to LSU, Georgia, Alabama and Clemson, USC and Oregon are in the mix for the nation’s top recruit who plans to take all of his five official visits in the fall before signing in December.
