Most important player for each NFL team in 2020
Baltimore Ravens: Patrick Queen, LB
The Ravens need to find a young guard capable of filling in for Marshal Yanda up front, but they spent a first-round pick on Queen for a good reason. They are keenly aware of their need to get more athletic at the linebacker position.
Queen needs to step in and play like a quality starter as a rookie to justify the team’s investment. He has speed to burn, but his lack of elite size is a bit of a question mark. The more plays he can make on the perimeter the more valuable he’ll be for Baltimore.
Cincinnati Bengals: Jonah Williams, OT
Williams is a bit of a forgotten man with the Bengals after missing his entire rookie season due to injury. Now it’s his job to return to the field and protect Joe Burrow.
The former Alabama standout doesn’t need to be an All-Pro to provide value. He simply needs to be a steady starter at the most important position on the offensive line. If he does that, this offense could be really fun to watch.
Cleveland Browns: Jack Conklin, OT
The Browns need to give Baker Mayfield better protection to snap him out of his slump. Drafting Jedrick Wills to play left tackle was a step in the right direction, but Conklin’s play on the right side will be even more important.
Cleveland’s offense will skew their run game to the right side to take advantage of Conklin’s skills as a blocker. His play will have a huge factor on whether or not the Browns can break into the playoffs in 2020.
Pittsburgh Steelers: Minkah Fitzpatrick, DB
Fitzpatrick had a great impact on the Steelers after being acquired from the Dolphins in the middle of the 2019 campaign. He can’t afford to let his production drop off in year two with the franchise.
Pittsburgh needs him to play like an All-Pro if they want to be Super Bowl contenders. He’s got the talent to make that happen, but he needs to provide that level of production for a full season to help the Steelers achieve their goals.
