Green Bay Packers: OT Derek Sherrod (2011 1st Round, No. 32)

Fresh off a Super Bowl victory, the Green Bay Packers used their first-round pick to bolster the offensive line with tackle Derek Sherrod. A highly-touted prospect, Sherrod’s career was off to a good start before a gruesome leg injury caused him to miss the better part of two years. Sherrod was never the same after that, finding himself out of football by 2015.

Houston Texans: CB Kevin Johnson (2015 1st Round, No. 16)

Looking for depth at corner, the Houston Texans grabbed local product Kevin Johnson with the 16th overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft. Johnson made an impact as a rookie, starting ten games and recording 54 tackles, but injuries limited him in the following years. The Texans cut Johnson in 2019 and he has started bouncing around the league to try and find a fresh start.

Indianapolis Colts: DE Bjoern Werner (2013 1st Round, No. 24)

One of the hardest positions to adjust to at the NFL level is edge rusher, which explains the high bust rate at the position. The Colts found out the hard way with Bjoern Werner, their top pick in the 2013 draft. Werner made a minimal impact over three seasons and was out of football by 2017.
