20 role players who are going to become NFL stars in 2020
Josh Reynolds, WR, Los Angeles Rams
The Rams’ decision to let Brandin Cooks go to Houston gives more opportunities to everyone in their receiving corps to step up in 2020. Reynolds, in particular, has a terrific chance to grab the starting position in the slot.
That’s a very valuable role in Sean McVay’s offense. It’s often the position used to run deep patterns via play-action. Reynolds has the size and speed required to make big catches down the field. He could be a very productive player for Los Angeles this year.
D.K. Metcalf, WR, Seattle Seahawks
Metcalf was a big part of the Seahawks’ offense in 2019, but he’s just scratching the surface of what he can do as a professional. That thought should terrify defenders all over the NFL.
He already has the ability to make big plays down the field, which means he simply needs to work on making the routine plays more frequently to become a star. Adding the ability to run 10-yard outs effectively would make Metcalf impossible to cover. Seattle’s coaching staff should be salivating at his potential.
