Chris Lindstrom, OG, Atlanta Falcons

The Falcons might have the best wide receiver duo in the NFL, but they still want to run the ball to keep pressure away from Matt Ryan. That makes Lindstrom’s ability to run block from the guard position so important.

He had his ups and downs as a rookie, but he’s got the heft and power required to thrive inside in the NFL. Look for Atlanta to run behind him on the right side a lot in 2020. His contributions may be subtle, but they’ll be huge for the Falcons offense.

Shaq Thompson, LB, Carolina Panthers

Luke Kuechly’s retirement is a huge blow for the Panthers’ defense. It puts a huge amount of pressure on the rest of the team’s linebacking corps to raise their play in 2020.

Thompson is, by far, the most talented member of the unit. He’s got the speed to make plays from sideline to sideline. Kuechly’s departure should give him a larger opportunity to shine this season. If Carolina’s defense makes a significant step forward then Thompson will be at the center of their progression.
